Yoga & Movement

  • Amanda Cutler, CYP-500

Amanda teaches Gentle Yoga for the Overwhelmed, Mondays at 4 PM.

In the mental health field over the past decade, there has been an explosion of research on the way that trauma, stress, and emotions are stored in the physical body - not just our thoughts and memories. As a mental health therapist, Amanda knew she wanted more tools to address this reality.

Amanda earned her CYP 500-hour yoga teacher certification in 2020 with an emphasis on the clinical applications of yoga. Yoga is an excellent somatic intervention that Amanda incorporates into therapy with her clients for many reasons. Amanda’s Tuesday yoga class is taught in a trauma-sensitive style, meaning it focuses on choice, tuning into your body, and practicing tools to help participants self-regulate emotions and physical responses, on and off the mat.

Amanda’s style of yoga is non-competitive and meant for everyone, from those who have never touched a yoga mat to experienced yoga practitioners. Her class is excellent for anyone who is feeling overwhelmed; clinicians, working adults, parents, and everyone who needs a chance to slow down and breathe (hint: all of us!).

To experience this healing modality with Amanda, sign up for a class at Continuum or contact her for an individual session.

  • Lauren "Lo" Jones, RD, RYT

Lauren “Lo” Segal has been practicing yoga for fifteen years and teaching for the past eight. While her initial 200hr training in 2017 was in power yoga through CorePower Yoga (CPY), she has grown to love slower, more meditative practices. Lo completed a restorative training through CPY (2019) and a yin yoga training through YogaRenew (2023). She’s also continued her yoga education through a level 2 power yoga training (2018), a yoga sculpt training through CPY (2020), and a yoga for eating disorders training (2022 + 2023). She loves creating fusion classes that combine both power and restorative practice to provide balance and challenge both the body and mind through effort and ease. As a former D1 athlete herself, Lo has found yoga to be an integral part of her training and relationship with food and body by creating flexibility of the body and mind. She hopes students walk away from her classes with the same experience (and a new friend or two!). Her approach to teaching strives to be accessible, non-judgmental, and fun. Lo is available for private yoga sessions and will offer a weekly “yin yoga for athletes” at Continuum starting in the fall.
